Description:

The Primary Therapist is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the Clinical Director. He/She will be responsible for patient caseload and will provide group, individual, and family therapy. The Primary Therapist will conduct psychosocial and bio-psychosocial assessments. He/She will collaborate with the Treatment Team to formulate the Master Treatment Plan and assist in coordinating discharge planning. The Primary Therapist has primary responsibility for maintaining communication with the family, referral source and other service providers as needed.


Supervision will be provided!

Requirements:

1. EDUCATION:

· Master's Degree in social work, psychology or related human services field.


2. EXPERIENCE:

· One Year of work experience in the behavioral health care setting.


3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

· Licensure and/or (Intern License) to practice clinical discipline in the appropriate state, as applicable, required in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health counselor and/or Certified Addiction Professional.


4. SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, observation & Written skills.

· Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.

· Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.

· Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

· Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Ethics

· Knowledge of addictions.

· Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.

· Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program.

· Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.

· Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes;

· Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual.

· Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family.

· Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.

· Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.

· Knowledge of First Aid and CPR.

· Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:

· Confidentiality

· Patient Rights

· Professional Code of Ethics

· Discrimination

· Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.

6. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

· Familiar with community resources



Pay Range $25 to $40 per hour

commensurate with experience.
