The Childcare Teacher compliments the nursing staff in the total quality client/family coordination of care in a multidisciplinary method under the supervision of the medical staff. The Childcare Teacher will work with the child care team to adapt and implement lesson plans. They will guide other staff to provide quality interactions, room environments, and educational programming. They will provide classroom management and support training initiatives as they relate to programming. The Childcare Teacher will ensure the classroom is following best practice standards for a high-early childhood experience while working within the guidelines of all TKC policy and procedures.

Monday - Friday (6am-6pm)

Saturday (8am-4pm)

Starting Rate:

$12.00 - $14.00

Rate increases with experience based on pre-set qualifiers.

The Kidz Club is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care that provides skilled nursing care for children, ages birth to under 21 years, with complex medical needs.

1. Customer Service

Seek to provide professional and courteous service to the children and their families

Acts as a role model for other team members and facilitates all classroom team members to provide this professional and courteous service

Provides proposals and solutions to meet goals and work requirements

Participates in a team effort to fulfill area goals and work requirements

Relay important information regarding each child's care to the child's family in a professional way

Provides guidance and supervision to team members regarding curriculum and teaching with a positive approach

Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA requirements in all situations and interactions

Follow chain of command/Site Director of Nursing with questions and concerns

2. Conducts sound teaching instruction and utilizes appropriate established guidelines for learning and lesson plans

Demonstrate the ability to provide individualized care for the children under the direction of the RN Case Manager, Charge Nurse and Site Director of Nursing

Utilizes age-appropriate guidelines and information to foster independence and advancement of developmental levels

Keep children actively engaged at all times; assist each child in reaching individual, therapy and classroom goals

Refers inquiries to the appropriate resource and keeps Director and/or Program Coordinator informed in advance of all programming and curriculum needs

Perform multiple tasks, prioritizing tasks appropriately

Follow the Guide to Positive Interaction and remain therapeutic with children at all times

Be willing and able to work with children ages birth to 21 years old with developmental disabilities and medical diagnoses ranging in complexity

Handle emergent/priority situations by reporting immediately to RN Case Manager, Charge RN and/or Site Director of Nursing while remaining calm

3. Maintains the following Childcare Teacher responsibilities

Works with child care team to implements the daily program, curriculum and lesson plan for the assigned classroom

Ensures engagement between staff and children during play and other activities

Prepares materials for implementation of curriculum in advance

Ensures a working schedule is written and implemented for the classroom

Communicates professionally with children, families, and co-workers

Coordinates all instruction for the children as directed by the physician, parent, therapist, or Individual Education Plan (IEP) according to the plan of treatment and care plans

Reports conditions and learning needs of the child to all team members, supervisors, and family

Ensures all educational and instruction judgments are made based on holistic aspects of care of the child, identifies any needs of the child and family

Seeks advice and assistance if needed

Maximizes inclusion activities/programs for each child focusing on social skills and behavior needs while coordinating educational goals with nursing goals

4. Cleanliness

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the facility; complete all cleaning assignments satisfactorily

Follow Standard Precautions protocols

Use good hand hygiene; teach and assist children with good hand hygiene practices

Maintain good personal hygiene and portray a professional appearance at all times

5. Policy and Procedure

Maintain professional responsibilities to remain up-to-date on standards regarding child care, Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) regulations and The Kidz Club policies

Keep current in The Kidz Club affairs via staff meeting and designated communications

Follow all policies and procedures implemented by The Kidz Club as applicable to the Job Responsibilities, Employee Handbook, and assigned duties

Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Site Director of Nursing

6. Documentation

Perform chart documentation at appropriate times and within a timely manner before end of shift

Document accurate and complete information on all children

Use date, time, signature and title entries appropriately on all documentation

Assist in maintaining medical records and ensure information is complete and filed appropriately

7. Attendance & Assignment

Record work hours accurately and appropriately

Adhere to work schedule

Adhere to daily assignment and classroom schedule

Remain flexible in changes that occur throughout the day including staffing, patient assignment, and classroom schedule

Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written in a clear, concise and easily understood manner.

Childcare and/or Pediatric experience preferred.

Exhibit leadership and organization skills.

Must be able to multi-task and perform as a foundational team member.

Current negative Tuberculosis test (PPD) required.

Current CPR (Basic Life Support) required.

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required.
