The Clinical Educator plans, develops, and conducts clinical education and training programs for provider and provider staff necessary to meet the organizations clinical integration initiatives. The trainer is responsible for maintaining a current knowledge base with regards to rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the implementation of provider training initiatives.

The Clinical Educator will also be accountable for the following:

  • Assessment of behavioral health training needs of network healthcare providers and development of a method to assess needs.
  • Development of a training plan and program for network healthcare providers related to behavioral health topics or other identified clinical initiatives.
  • Identification of training resources (internal and external).
  • Planning of training activities (internal and external).
  • Coordinating training schedules with Account Executives and network management staff.
  • Monitoring training registrations and attendance, maximizing resources and ensuring value-added benefit to the provider network.
  • Prepare training announcements for website posting, training agendas and evaluation forms.
  • Obtaining expertise on relevant topics in order to provide trainings.
  • Conduct provider trainings to the network as necessary.
  • Meet with internal and external stakeholders as needed in regarding provider clinical training needs.



  • Master's Degree; preferred from an accredited educational program in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, or Nursing. OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • One of the following professional licenses is preferred: RN (Registered Nurse), LSW (licensed social worker), LCSW (licensed clinical social worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family therapist), LPC (Licensed professional counselor) or another LMHP (Licensed Mental Health Professional).
  • 1 year experience working with a managed care system required.
  • 3-5 years' experience with providing behavioral health and/or clinical training or consultation.
  • Extensive travel required, including overnight travel to the various ACFC markets.  Approximately 75% travel.
  • Previous proven leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plan benefit information and managed care (preferred).
  • Good interpersonal, personal and time management skills.
  • Understanding of Compliance and Confidentiality information.
  • Human Services/Mental Health background and experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience (preferred).
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft programs.
