Clinician headspace - Psychologist, Social Worker, R Nurse, Occ Therapist * 494849 * Youth and Families - Counsellor, Therapist, Psychologist and Facilitator * Full time closed period contract The headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program of Parramatta Mission aims to provide early intervention services to young people with emerging serious mental illness, and their families, that are youth-friendly, accessible, consistent and seamless, and that provide ongoing care and support. * Psychologist / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist / Registered Nurse * Opportunity to promote hope and recovery in peoples lives * Some service via Telehealth + Generous Salary packaging Role Overview The Continuing Care Team (CCT) Clinician role is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. The role involves the provision of comprehensive, evidence-based clinical case management, psychological and psychosocial interventions consistent with the EPPIC model of care. The overall aims of the CCT clinician position are: To reduce the duration of untreated psychosis in order to minimise the impact of a first episode of psychosis on the normal developmental trajectory of the young person To minimise the subjective distress of young people and their families associated with the experience of early psychosis and a first episode of psychosis To screen and reduce the incidence of metabolic syndrome To enable both symptomatic and functional recovery from a first episode of psychosis Essential Criteria Qualifications Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and eligibility for membership with AHPRA or the appropriate professional body Registered Nurse o Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent; Mental Health Nursing experience favourable or equivalent. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Occupational Therapist o Bachelor Degree of Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice with the National Board. Psychologist o Registration as a psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009). Current membership or eligibility for membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Social Worker o Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Key Selection Criteria a) The incumbent would be expected to have relevant clinical experience in and skills within mental health of a minimum of one year post-registration, ideally with experience in early psychosis. b) Demonstrated experience in clinical practice, and in delivering contemporary, evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions for young people. c) A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals and outside agencies d) Demonstrated ability to engage and work collaboratively with young people and their families/significant others e) Demonstrated ability to collaboratively plan and coordinate individualised psychosocial interventions to meet the needs of young people with psychosis based on a case formulation approach f) Demonstrated ability to provide high quality assessment and evidence based psychological interventions, within a stress-vulnerability and recovery framework for young people g) Sound knowledge and understanding of early psychosis rationale and principles including the developmental stages of young people and the impact that a first episode of psychosis has on their development and the impact on the family/significant others h) Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and function autonomously while being able to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team i) Flexibility in coping with organisational change and demonstrated capacity to be innovative in clinical approaches with young people j) Ability to maintain and develop the culture, philosophy, standards, guidelines and policies of the service k) Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act (2007) and the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act (1998) and other relevant legislation l) Demonstrated commitment to clinical supervision, education, training and ongoing professional development m) Ability to use relevant information technology, electronic recording systems and data management tools n) Current NSW Drivers Licence To Apply, click the Apply button & attach your Resume and Cover Letter addressing each item of the Essential criteria.
