About the Department The Physiotherapy Department provides high quality clinical services across a spectrum of acute, sub-acute and outpatient services. The Department works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment and a range of therapeutic services to optimise patient care and maximise function. About the Role An opportunity currently exists for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy teams on a full time, permanent basis. This position is responsible for assisting physiotherapists to provide high quality clinical management of patients in the sub-acute units at St Georges Hospital, primarily the Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM) inpatient unit. In particular, this incudes assisting patient mobility practice, supervising patient exercise and therapy across both individual and group sessions, and other duties as directed. The classification for this position will be Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 TC1 ($57,777 per annum). Duties * Implementation of treatment as directed including exercises, mobility, ADL retraining and gait aid provision * Accurate treatment monitoring and evaluation of patients programs and conditions * Maintain effective communication with all team members including reporting back to the supervising physiotherapist regarding patient management and progress.
