East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is currently recruiting for the post of Clinical Support Worker, to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide a high standard of patient care.

We currently have opportunities for CSWs for our unplanned and planned divisions.

Unplanned - Our unplanned division (previously known as medicine division) is made up of medicine and Women's & Children's area, which includes departments such as emergency department (A&E) and acute medical Unit, as well as general Medicine wards, where departments are based on medicine specialists such as stroke, diabetes, respiratory, renal, elderly care and children's wards.

Planned - Our planned division (previously known as Surgery division) is made up of main theatres, day surgery, orthopaedics, critical care, gastro and after surgery recovery ward.

The ideal candidate will be:

Some of the responsibilities within the role of Clinical Support Worker are:
* Communicating with patients
* Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife
* Washing / dressing patients
* Taking patients physiological observations
* Making beds and cleaning bed areas
* Serving meals and assisting feeding patients
* Talking / listening to patients

The Trust can also offer you a flexible career approach to learning which comprises of a "step on" and "step off" option.

*This is a training post, while applicants must undertake Care certificate or 16 months apprenticeship.*

***Applicants will be invited to part take in an online diagnostic assessment of Maths and English in relation to the apprenticeship**

* Minimum level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
* Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding

* Basic understanding of NHS issues
* Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Apprenticeship
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £18,870.00-£19,918.00 per year
