Male Mental Health Support Worker & Driver (for Challenging Behaviours)

Supported Living Service in Reigate Road, Epsom

£11 per hour _(Overtime rate of £11.50 per hour)_

24 - 48 hours per week _(based on 12-__hour shifts)_

_Full Time & Part Time positions available_

£500 Welcome bonus on completion of 6 month probation period

Working hours: 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am

This position involves driving the company car and candidates _ must _meet the following criteria to be fully insured:
Have a valid UK driving licence and have had this for a period longer than 2 years

Are over 25 years old

Are under 70 years old

_ This position is for a Male Support Worker, due to the challenging behaviours of the Service User requiring support _

Ideal position for individuals looking to build up experience for the role of a Psychological Well-Being Practitioner or Assistant Psychologist.

As a Mental Health Support Worker you will become part of our team supporting service users in their own homes in Epsom, Surrey. Accordia staff benefit from great career progression, sector-leading professional training and great job stability.

We specialise in providing person-centred care for adults with a Forensic mental health background, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and autism to enable them to play a meaningful part within their community. You will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding care to the people we support. Our flagship supported living service on Reigate Road is an 8 minute walk from Ewell East train station and has on-site parking. We are looking for Night Support Workers (part-time and full-time) at £11 per hour with an enhanced overtime rate of £11.50 per hour, and a £500 welcome bonus for full time positions.

Essential requirements of a Mental Health Support Worker:
Experience with working with people with Mental health , Autism, Challenging behvaiours and Learning Disabilities
People who have used restraint or would be comfortable being trained to use restraint
Can lone work with confidence and be part of a wider team
Strong values and person-centred approach
Must be able to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
Individuals who are enthusiastic, resilient, energetic, and proactive
Individuals who can go biking, fishing, swimming and engage in physical activity with the person they will be supporting
You will need to be enthusiastic and creative to provide the best person-centred support possible
A commitment to personal and professional development
Resilience and drive to overcome challenges
The ability to understand and demonstrate empathy for the people you are supporting
Be passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism
Be prepared to work with people who present with challenging behaviour and in some cases risky behaviours
Be energetic, active, confident and fun!

Desirable:
Experience working with either a forensic mental health , supported living or residential setting
Can evidence NVQ qualification in social care or Care Certificate - Training can be provided
Have a knowledge and understanding of diabetes or worked with individuals with diabetes - Training can be provided
Have a valid driving licence
Live within a 30-minute commute / drive to Epsom
Have a driving licence

Responsibilities of a Support Worker:
Multi-disciplinary teamwork is essential to ensuring a successful working relationship. MDT work includes engagement Clinicians, Occupational Therapist, Police, Nurses, Psychiatrists, Positive behavioural support etc.
To follow support plans and risk plans
Provide input into reviews such as Continuous Professional Assessments
Support the process of key working sessions designed to evaluate the dimensions of wellness and goal setting
Support the planning and execution of activities and plans
Ensure medication compliance
Support positive social interactions and engagements
To support and empower disadvantaged adults in society with a learning disability and autism, with the focus being on improving their mental, physical, intellectual, and emotional wellbeing
To have genuine integrity and model ethical support practices such as dignity, respect, and compassion.
Working closely with the care team and stakeholders in the delivery of the highest possible quality of care
To enable the service users to lead a valued and fulfilling life, maximising their potential by access opportunities in training, leisure, education, and employment
