The starting salary for this position is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Reablement Mental Health Occupational Therapist to support a new and innovative pathway within the Surrey Reablement service for people with mental health difficulties. This new initiative is part of a transformation plan for Reablement to make it available to more residents. The Surrey Reablement service is a county wide service offering short term support to people in the community using a strengths-based approach to achieve agreed outcomes.
In this role you will lead on assessments and skills gain programmes, deliver training and act as a resource for the wider team bringing skilled advice, ideas and techniques. You will work with the Reablement teams and specialist Mental Health Reablement Workers to deliver a custom service for those with reablement potential who have mental health and, in some cases, also physical difficulties.
This exciting post offers the chance to contribute to the development of the Reablement service as it undergoes its transformation to being a therapy led service. It also offers access to regular supervision, CPD sessions, and training and development opportunities.
To be shortlisted for interview for this position, your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence:
- At least 2 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist in mental health or related services and enthusiasm for helping develop the service and embedding good practice
- Experience of working towards increased independence with people with mental health conditions and understand the benefits of a strengths-based approach and good communication
- Flexibility and strong organisational skills, managing your own diary and making the best use of your time to meet the needs of the service
- Able to supervise, develop and support staff and students
- A valid UK driver's licence and access to a car with business insurance (which you will need to visit people in their own homes)
