Are you a compassionate Support Worker who wants to be part of a long-awaited new service for people experiencing mental health crisis? Do you want to join a charity who are on a mission to transform the way mental health support is delivered and challenge long-running funding restraints? Moxie is excited to be supporting a progressive and passionate mental health charity to build their team for a new crisis service on the outskirts of Newport that launched in late 2021. Only the second of its kind in Wales, this service has been years in the making and is widely supported across Gwent! About this project: The service adopts the same successful model used in Cardiff s crisis house and creates another opportunity to help individuals experiencing a crisis in their mental health in Wales. The service will work in close partnership with the local health board and other agencies to deliver a holistic approach to support. The crisis house will offer a safe space for individuals to take time out and identify what support is available to equip them with skills to make changes when they return home, helping to minimise the chances of another crisis in their mental health occurring. This could be in the form of a chat and a cup of tea, quiet time on their own, gardening, music, TV, or connecting with other guests. The 5-bed residence has been designed to be warm and homely, giving it a less clinical feel than what might be experienced in a hospital setting, with stays anticipated to be between two days and two weeks on average.
