HealthCare Recruiters International is currently seeking a Mental Health Therapist. The school-Based Clinician provides counseling, case management and other social-emotional services to children and families in school-based settings. The goal of these services is to target the factors preventing consistent school attendance, resulting in a decrease in truancy. School-Based Clinicians are placed within a high school and/or elementary school environment and work under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health and Youth Services, obtaining the hours necessary for licensure while in this position.
Mental Health Therapist LCSW, LCPC or LMFT duties and responsibilities:
Mental Health Therapist will Provide individual and group therapy services to children, adolescents, staff, and families, including small group interventions and individual counseling.
Mental Health Therapist will Plan, coordinates, and implements treatment services and other clinical activities for identified clients, while being cognizant of cultural, ethnic, and environmental differences to achieve highly effective, efficient, and culturally competent service delivery to children and families.
Mental Health Therapist will Implement psycho-educational workshops for parents and students to support healthy family functioning.
Mental Health Therapist will Support the social emotional health of families through outreach and support.
Mental Health Therapist will Conduct home visits, phone calls and offers follow-up services to identify barriers to social and emotional functioning and helps to address needs.
Mental Health Clinician LCSW, LCPC or LMFT will Provide comprehensive case management to clients and refers families to resources that meet critical needs, including food, educational opportunities, immigrants' rights, tenants' rights and housing or clothing assistance.
Mental Health Therapist will Engage in crisis intervention with clients/family members, including the development and implementation of safety plans.
Mental Health Therapist will need to be available on-call for crisis intervention consultation.
Mental Health Clinician LCSW, LCPC or LMFT qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field required.
Must also be LCSW, LCPC or LMFT, licensed in Illinois, plus have four years of clinical experience or be on-track towards licensure.
Experience working with children and adolescents from 5 to 19 years of age.
Advanced knowledge of and experience in the mental health treatment field.
Dynamic self-starter with a passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families.
Experience with multicultural programming preferred.
Ability to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
