Are you an Aspiring Therapist looking to gain critical experience working with complex needs?
Have you recently graduated with a degree in psychology or similar subject?
This Mental Health Support Therapist role is aimed at an enthusiastic, empathetic Psychology Graduate who wants to initiate restorative practices to assist a wide array of Autistic students, ranging from high functioning to non-verbal. This Specialist Provision in Oxford has a state of the art Complex Needs Environment, where you will have the opportunity to shadow specialised staff such as speech and language therapists, clinical psychologists etc.
Within this Teaching assistant role you will be supporting children who often have low levels of self-esteem due to previous negative experience from schooling. Your role is to provide the educational support which is tailored to their individual needs, encouraging them to gain confidence in both themselves and education, enabling them to progress in their learning. Whilst the Teaching Assistant/Mental Health Support Assistant ideally will have a degree in a related field or prior experience working with young people. Many of the children within the school have experienced trauma and will require someone with resilience and a strong open-mind to support their mental health challenges.
