Opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced nurse to apply for Registered Nurse Year 2 to Year 10 (YP3 to YP11) position in the brand new 12 bed Palliative Care Unit at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is one of Australias leading health care organisations, providing exceptional care and leading cutting edge research. This position on the new Palliative Care unit at Peter Mac will provide an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to assist with providing specialised care for patients requiring symptom management, complex pain management, end of life care and discharge planning. We are seeking part time applicants to apply (64 hours per fortnight). Successful Applicant will be required to work on a 7 day a week rotating roster. Selection Criteria essential requirements * Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) * Recent and relevant experience of Palliative Care in inpatient (hospice) and acute hospital environments and/or community experience or oncology experience * Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development * A patient focussed approach to care * Demonstrated team player who can lead and foster collaborative partnerships * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Selection Criteria desirable requirements * Membership of relevant professional organisation * Postgraduate qualification in palliative care nursing or work towards For further information about this opportunity, please review the position description or contact us for a confidential discussion.
