Your Opportunity Mac River is a residential rehabilitation service for young people aged 13-18 who are experiencing drug and alcohol issues. The service provides support for three months in residence, followed by three months of aftercare in the community. Your role will be to oversee the delivery of individual and group-based interventions for residents as identified through assessments. This may involve the delivery of proven, evidence-based therapies to residents, and providing effective counselling and resident support through behaviour management practices. You will work alongside the Case Worker and Coordinator to develop and implement individual case plans while maintaining best practice. This position would best suit a candidate who has recently graduated and has an interest in working with youth and / or drug and alcohol interventions. Your key responsibilities will be to: * Provide comprehensive assessment of clients on admission and intake * Develop and facilitate group counselling sessions to meet client needs * Provide clinical support using proven evidence-based therapies to residents while in residence and during aftercare * Create a supportive environment conducive to effective counselling * Maintain quality relationships with a range of key stakeholders * Ensure clinical outcome measures are collected and reported against * Maintain up to date, non-judgmental client files, case notes and reports Requirements for Success * Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Social Work or relevant discipline, and registration with relevant professional body as required * Extensive experience in providing proven evidence-based therapeutic services to clients * Experience of individual and group counselling * A valid and current drivers licence Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
