Supervising Social Worker

Start a rewarding career with this well-established organisation: We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Social Worker to join the team at the Doncaster office, part of the Midlands and North Team. As the Supervising Social Worker you will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.?

??A Supervising Social Worker s Day is varied and interesting you will be able to follow a flexible structure whilst supporting foster carers, holding realistic caseloads and be able to provide high level of supervision, monitoring, and intervention of this.

As the Supervising Social Worker you will be working within a Trauma informed practice model where you can support and ?follow a therapeutic practice.

Working as a Supervising Social Worker you will have the opportunity to complete Form F Assessments, be part of the Children & Young people s participation and strategy events and be part of the out of hours service where you will support foster carers on a rota basis.

?The young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, the organisation is looking for committed and dedicated people that want to continue their career with a therapeutically based organisation and leading independent fostering agency.

?For newly qualified social workers you will have access to the ASYE programme, formal CHARMS training as well as access to the peer and group clinical supervision provided by a qualified psychologist. You will have opportunities to integrate with the clinical, education and residential services as they like to promote from within so you will have access to career progression opportunities.

They are a proactive, friendly, and growing team of 8. They work from an easily accessible and well-maintained office in Doncaster.

?The last 2 years has seen significant growth in the team. The service is rated GOOD by Ofsted, and it is a good place to work. The FSWs in post have expressed they "feel happy, valued, and supported within the team" and would like to extend this to other fostering support workers. They have seen a big growth in the team and are excited at the prospect of reaching out to more children in need of warm loving homes. To do this, they need to identify more staff who are like minded and wish to enable children to have positive changes in their lives. They are keen to recruit people with the same ambition and passion. The team benefits from local knowledge and promotes a sense of 'family among carers. Equality and collaboration are important, so they regularly meet with carers to hear their views on the service.


Full-time hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9am -17:00pm and Fridays 9am - 16:30pm

You will be expected to be in the office as a minimum of 1 day per week

The role is full time over 5 days per week.

  • Good written and IT skills.
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers?
  • Able to actively listen to others.
  • Formal Social Work Qualification
  • Valid Driving Licence
